How Much Should I Charge for Brand Strategy and Positioning for My First Client?
A newly self-employed professional seeking guidance on pricing for brand strategy and positioning services
I recently joined this community and wanted to ask for advice. Tomorrow I’m meeting with one of my first clients, a visual artist who wants to develop a personal brand and receive a brand strategy.
I graduated last year from art school with a major in Advertising and have about 3.5 years of experience, including work during college, in brand development, strategy, copywriting, advertising, web and graphic design, filmmaking, and offline/online marketing.
I’m not entirely sure which services he’ll want, but I know he’d like assistance with brand identity, tone of voice, positioning, and likely research on target audiences and benchmarks/competitors.
From what I’ve read online, marketing services can range from €50 to €150 per hour. However, since this is my first real client, I may need to adjust my rate. I’m seeking a ballpark figure that communicates competence without seeming overly confident. I’m based in the Netherlands, which I hope helps with context.
